Wordless Wednesday

A bit of news

Is everyone having problems with hotmail? It drives me crazy not being able to check my e-mail. It is my window to the world!!! I know that probably sounded sad!! Well I called the agency and they have a phone set up. I have been busy today moving stuff around. I wish that we had one more room or a basement. We just have too much stuff. I have been going through drawers and closets trying to get everything organized before the next baby Pike arrives.
Pauline has the ultrasound on the 7th and the sonogram on the 11th. I'm not really sure what the difference is but that is the news for now. I am contemplating on sending a few items to them. They have nothing and I found out today that they don't even have a car. I was thinking maybe some lotion, bath gel, etc. Let me know what you think. It will have to be small b/c we just sent a big chunk of money. But I hate to sit back and not send anything that would make her day/ their day a little brighter. Sorry that there is nothing major to report. Next week can't come quick enough. I hate to say that b/c I don't want Kaleb to grow up. Impatiently Waiting

Well my e-mail is apparently down so I can't check it. I am hoping to hear something from the agency. They have been working on getting a phone for Pauline and Miguel since last week. I really want to talk to them again to see how things are going. March 7th is the big day that we find out our babies gender. We will also find out the exact due date. We can't wait!!!! Well if I find out anything exciting I will let you all know. Have a great day!!!

Tired Thursday

Thanks for all your prayers for our fundraiser auction. We are blessed with an awesome church family. We actually have more than enough now!!! Praise God!!! There will be plenty of money for travel, and we should have some extra to use to pay back our loan. It was an awesome, fun-filled, emotional night!!! I talked about our adoption of Kaleb as well as our current one. I tried to hold it together but got very emotional. Luckily I made it through in one piece.
Kaleb is snoozing and I took a bit of a nap snuggled up next to him. It is FREEZING here!!! There is ice everywhere!!! Everyone be careful and have a warm cozy evening!!

Kaleb is officially 2 1/2

I can't believe that my baby is a big boy. Time is going by way too fast!!! He got his haircut today at the barber shop. He always does great, but they had the UK game on tv and he wanted to watch it. Needless to say he got a little flustered, but in the end was happy to get 2 suckers!!!

Some news!!

I decided to call Pauline myself. She had talked with the agency about everything but I guess since they leave at 12 there wasn't enough time to let me know. Basically the due date is July 21. They did paperwork today and listened to the heartbeat. Next appt. is scheduled for March 7th and they hope to do an ultrasound then. Both of us have signed our commit to adopt which is great. They are moving into an apt. this Wed. and don't know when they will get a phone. I am sure that some of the money we are sending will cover that. Have a great weekend!!!

Waiting!!!!

OK I know that everyone is dying for some news. I am waiting to hear from our agency. Pauline's appt. was this morning at 8. They are an hour behind us so I wanted to give them plenty of time. Our facilitator was on the phone when I called and I am hoping that she was talking with Pauline. I will post as soon as I hear anything. I am visiting family but will be home later today. I will have to wait until later to post my FFF. Have a great Friday and I hope that I have some news to share later.

No new news

I spoke with the agency and we are committing to this adoption this week. We had already done it in our hearts but now we just need to sign a paper. Also I went and moved 1/2 of the remaining money to be overnighted to the agency. Things are moving smoothly!!!
It is snowing here and they are predicting a winter storm. Everyone be careful!!!

New Look

Do you like my make-over?? I LOVE IT!!!! In place of the one picture of Kaleb Nikki is going to put the ultrasound once we get it. I am a colorful person so this blog is perfect. I will be talking to the agency tomorrow about my conversation with Pauline. I will let you know anything exciting.

The first conversation with Pauline

Kaleb went to sleep and I dosed off and woke up at 3:45. I immediately started feeling nervous. I prayed and began calling. No one was home until ~5:15. My sister and her family were here to keep Kaleb occupied but I sent them home after 5:00. Well of course as soon as they leave I call and they answer. Kaleb was in rare form putting lotion on, licking the lotion, trying to get the lotion off his tongue, etc. Finally I gave him suckers and that helped a bit. The conversation was a bit awkward since this was our first time speaking. I feel like it went well. Next Friday Pauline has an OB appt. and is hoping to get an ultrasound and find out the sex. They seem to be upbeat about the adoption; as upbeat as you can be I suppose. The only thing is that she is not understanding how everything works when the baby is born. I didn't want to be the one to tell her so I will relay this to the agency. Another big thing with her was who is going to name the baby? After discussing it she decided that they will name the baby. No big deal there. I will just have to remember at Dr. appointments. All in all I think that it went well. The plan is to commit this week and then we will just wait for the birth. Thank you sooo much for all the prayers. They definitely helped!!!!

Kaleb is a great eater lately!!! Could it be that we are entering a growth spurt!!!!

On another note I will be talking to the birth parents for the first time Saturday afternoon. Please say a prayer that all goes well. They are eager for us to commit so that will probably come next week. We were supposed to wait for some other documents but the agency said that it is fine. Also, we are having a silent auction on Feb. 20th to raise some adoption funds. If you have anything that you would like to donate leave a comment. Have an awesome weekend and stay warm!!!

Woo Hoo Wednesday

Well we got the call from the grant we have been waiting on. They are going to match up to $2500. I have called and e-mailed them like crazy lately so it was such a relief to get the call from them. Also during the monthly fellowship dinner at our church we are going to have a silent auction. They are going to focus on adoption that night as well as the AAA Pregnancy Center. God is good and when we give it all to Him it will work out!!!!

Funny thing is that I have always wanted to go to Med. School. Maybe when our kids are older I will venture into becoming an oncologist!!! I don't know being a full time MOM is very rewarding!!!!
