Sorry for being MIA

We went and visited my cousin in IL over the weekend and didn't get back until Monday night. I have been so tired, but we had a great time!!! Kaleb did awesome in the car as well the whole trip.

I got a call from the agency yesterday that was a bit unsettling (sp?). Nikki says that there are some negatives with Pauline and Miguel. She has tried several times to get in touch with her but apparently when she calls Pauline is at work. We just want to make sure that they are preparing themselves emotionally for this adoption. Pauline said in the hospital plan that she wants the baby in room with her and the daddy. Things like this are a bit unsettling. We can always back out, but we already have so much money tied in this adoption. Just please keep us in your prayers as well as Nikki. She has been doing this for a long time so I hope that she can figure things out for us. Kamden is due 3 months from today!!! We just want to do what God has planned for us! I hope to hear from the agency tomorrow or so as Nikki was going to call Pauline to talk about some things. I tried to call Pauline today but there was no answer. She probably was at work. Well needless to say keep us in your prayers. Adoption is such an amazing thing, but it is also the scariest.

I just wanted to let you know that when I had my baby we had her "room in." "Rooming in" was hard on us as birthparents. I won't lie. But it was also good. We actually needed that time to celebrate her birth and grieve our loss. We needed that time to feel that she "knew us" and we "knew her." It also reaffirmed our feelings that we loved her and would always love her... but that didn't mean that we (at 18 years of age) were the best parents for her. We learned quickly how much work a baby is when we had her room in!

Of course everyone is different, but I wanted to reassure you that a plan to have the baby "room in" isn't necessarily bad.

I can't remember if you're planning a competely open adoption or a semi-open adoption... but my advices is to continue to offer Pauline reassurance that she's an important part of your adoption plan. Let her know that it's important to you that she remains a part of your lives.

I'll be thinking and praying for you and your family.

My Best,
